What to send us so it prints sharp, and how to get a print-ready file out of an AI tool.
What to send
- Best: a vector file: PDF, AI, EPS or SVG. They print sharp at any size, and you can upload them straight into the designer.
- PNG or JPG? As big as you have: at least 2500 pixels wide for a 25cm print, or 1000 pixels for a 10cm left chest logo. The designer checks this as you go.
- Plain backgrounds (white, black, one colour) are removed automatically. For busy backgrounds, use the Remove background button or ask us.
- Solid colours only: shadows, glows, faded areas and anything partly see-through don't print well. The designer warns you if it spots any.
- Embroidery: text under about 5mm high and very fine details don't stitch well. We'll simplify where needed and show you first.
Used AI to design something?
Great, send us the concept so we can see what you're after. But AI images often aren't printable as they are: they come out too small, with fake see-through backgrounds, shadows or a mockup around them. Paste one of these into ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini (replace the bits in [brackets]) and send us what it gives you, along with the original concept.
Turn your AI logo into a print-ready file
You have a logo or design you like, made with AI or anywhere else.
Recreate the attached design as a clean, flat, print-ready logo. - Solid flat colours only: no gradients, shadows, glows, textures, 3D effects or photo detail. - Use no more than [3] colours: [list your colours or hex codes]. - Every line at least 1mm thick and all text at least 5mm tall when printed [25]cm wide. - On a plain solid white background, NOT a grey and white checkerboard. - Centred, with an even margin. No mockup, no t-shirt, no extra words or watermark. - Output a square PNG at least 3000 x 3000 pixels. Then give me the same design as SVG code, using only paths with solid fills and text converted to outlines.
Design a business card to print size
You want AI to lay out your business card.
Design a double-sided business card for [business name], a [what you do] in Derby. - Finished size 85 x 55mm, plus 3mm bleed on every side (91 x 61mm in total). - Keep all text and logos at least 4mm inside the trimmed edge. - Front: [my attached logo] on a [colour] background. - Back: [name], [job title], [phone], [email], [website], and a QR code space linking to [web address]. - Clean, modern layout, text no smaller than 7pt, strong contrast. - Output each side separately as a flat PNG at 300dpi (1075 x 721 pixels). No mockups, shadows, hands or perspective.
Design an A5 flyer to print size
You want AI to lay out a flyer or leaflet.
Design an A5 flyer for [business name]. - Finished size 148 x 210mm portrait, plus 3mm bleed on every side (154 x 216mm in total). - Keep all text at least 5mm inside the trimmed edge. - Headline: "[your headline]". Points: [3 to 5 short points]. Offer: [offer, if any]. Contact: [phone, website, QR code to …]. - Use my brand colours [colours or hex codes] and my attached logo. - Output a flat PNG at 300dpi (1819 x 2551 pixels). No mockups, shadows or perspective.
Design a t-shirt or hoodie print
You want a design for the front or back of clothing.
Create a t-shirt print design for [what it's for]. - Print area [25] x [30]cm. Design only: no t-shirt, model or mockup in the image. - Flat colours with crisp edges. Every line at least 1mm thick and text at least 5mm tall at that size. - Designed to go on a [garment colour] garment, so avoid that colour in the design. - On a plain solid white background (not a checkerboard), centred. - Output a PNG at least 3000 pixels wide.
